THE TIP OF AN ICEBERG
a year has passed. a year where lots of events took place. just like any teenagers out there, i had this cravings for friends. yet in the quest for friends, i realised one thing, that many of my friends are wearing masks. apparently, they have two very different sides. in school, these guys appear to be playful and lazy, and yet...they kept getting top position in our class. simple-minded people might think that they are GENIUSES who are born with the so-called "talent" and don't have to study and yet can score well. i used to be one of those simple-minded guys. but now, i know these so-called GENIUSES are in fact very hardworking at home. they study like hell. they study so hard that they can afford to sacrifice their meals, their sleep, their playtime so that they can pretend to be the so-called GENIUSES in school. and then everybody will be so impressed by them and start to envy them...and to some extent, IDOLISE them!!! how exaggerating, huh? but they are true in some ways. while the second type of people who wear mask are those who pretend to be cheerful and talkative in school. most of them actually belong to families where their parents don't really pay much attention to them. at home, the atmosphere is so tensed. they have nobody to talk to. their parents only care about their academic performance. other than that, lively conversations seldom take place. after much observation, i finally understood that these bunch of guys actually lack of love. i don't blame them anymore for being annoying and irritating. yeah...yeah...sometimes they might drive me up the wall or even stand on my nerves and make me fly into a fit of rage. but eventually, i will forgive them cos they don't have a lovely family. so to you guys out there, don't judge a book by its cover. if someone irritates you, don't blame him cos he doesn't want it too. sometimes, we only see the tip of an iceberg, and yet totally ignorant of the real problem below it.
