THE TRIPOD STAND
recent events and happenings taught me something. I found asia (including malaysia) to be a place where close connection is everything. to climb up the corporate ladder, you need to SUCK up to your boss, to earn yourself a post in large organisations, intimate connections with your superior is inevitable. to get high marks for your school project, prepare to polish some shoes. it's extremely important...no, VITAL! ya, VITAL is the word. without relationship, you might as well be prepared to stay put at your current position till the grave. and here you are, a living evidence right in front of you. let's not talk about me. the lesson is if you want to get to the top, the highest peak of Mount Everest, talent, diligence, committment, devotion, dedication, confidence, intelligence is insufficient. you can be a born talent. you can be the most conscientious person on earth. you can be the most outspoken employee in your company. you may be the one who can sacrifice your time, your energy, your food, your sleep, your everything, but if you know nothing about apple-polishing, your talent, diligence, committment, devotion, dedication, confidence or even intelligence will just go down the drain. lost a battle, who to blame? YOURSELF. so, don't be afraid, you have nothing to lose(well, maybe your own dignity). nevermind your dignity, your salary is more important. without vitamin M(money), your life is meaningless. want your 5c's (credit card, car, condominium, cash, certificate)? well, you better get going.
